19 Sep Ledcrieff Report | A Bumper Week on the Loch
With Autumn well under way, there was no hold up in the top of the water fishing on Ledcrieff.
There was not one point of the week where fish were not rising in big numbers, some really large ones in amongst them. Successful tactics for past week have been for the most part floating lines with dries and cdc’s. Lures such as yellow dancer and a hot head damsel have also been taking lots of fish both on a floater and intermediate.
With the cooler weather at night, fish are in chasing mode and can be seen making large bow waves regularly when fishing fast subsurface, all heart stopping stuff.
Notable catches from the past week have been Colin Shepherd who landed over 20 fish up to 4lb all averaging just over the 2lb mark. Colins young nephew was fishing also who landed a stonking 6lb blue along with a few other fish around the 2lb mark. Mostly every rod for the week made good catches and its looking much the same for the week ahead. We have another large stocking going in this week with a mixture of blue, rainbow and brown trout going in keep an eye on facebook to see the footage.
Short Evening Tickets are still available for September starting at £11.
These are proving to be massively popular given the prolific hatches on the water. Why not come up and give it a bash before the clocks change.
Remember, we are open ’til dark 7 days a week.
See you on the water,
Stunning Loch and fantastic top of the water fishing!!! 13 fish in 4 hours, largest 4lb.
One of the best scenic small water fisheries around Tayside. Deep water at one end and shallow at the other. Deep drop offs where fish love to lie & a dry fly heaven. Insect life is amazing. and when they lie low midge tips and intermediates do the trick. Damsel Heaven!!!
Great days fishing today loved it nice and peaceful cheers Paul!!
